The largest gallery so far, it features the 1986 Portuguese GP at Estoril, which was won by Nigel Mansell. Autocourse said that this was one of his finest ever races, suggesting when he is sitting by the fireside with his grandchildren, he could look back at the results of this race and chuckle. “Look at that, kid. Not bad eh? First, Mansell; Second, Prost; Third, Piquet; Fourth, Senna…”
Ayrton Senna should have finished second, having held off Prost and Piquet in a furious battle for the runner-up position, but he ran short of fuel on the final lap, due to a glitch with the cockpit readout which said he should have enough fuel for another lap.
