The RAC Tourist Trophy is one of the oldest motor races on the calendar, having been first run in 1905 at the Highroads road circuit on the Isle of Man. The 1986 event at Silverstone was won by Jeff Allam (GB) and 3-times former winner Denny Hulme (NZ) in a Tom Walkinshaw Racing Rover Vitesse.
